The control panel is the brains of your Morepork. It talks to the other sensors and uses the Spark mobile network to send you alerts and images. It contains a loud siren that sounds during an alarm event, and a backup battery so you’re still protected during a power cut. You can also arm and disarm your Morepork from here.

You only need one control panel for your Morepork.

This small sensor can be fitted to doors, windows, drawers, cupboards – even the fridge or freezer, and can tell whether they are open or closed at any time. Each sensor is made up of two pieces that tell the Morepork control panel when they’ve been separated.

Think about:

• Main entry points into your home, for example front and back doors
• Likely entry points you won’t have covered by other sensors (such as image or motion sensors): ranchsliders or French doors, upstairs balcony doors, ground-floor windows and windows easily accessible by climbing
• Anything else that opens and closes that you want to monitor
• You can have a combined maximum of 39 window & door sensors and motion sensors connected to your Morepork.
• Remember you get three door & window sensors in your Security Starter Kit.

Motion sensors detect infrared heat in bodies over 18kg and have a range of up to ten metres. They are ideal for areas you want to monitor but don’t want visual access to, like bedrooms, and should be installed facing away from windows or bright lights to minimise false alarms. They cannot be adjusted for pet sensitivity so they’re best for areas pets don’t access when your Morepork is armed.

Smoke alarms detect the presence of smoke using photoelectric technology. They’re on alert 24 hours a day, whether your Morepork is armed or not. If smoke is detected, alarms will sound in the smoke alarm and in the control panel and Morepork will send an alert to any smartphone you’ve asked it to.

Think about:

• For safety, you should have at least one smoke alarm for each floor of your home, ideally in every bedroom, living area and hallway. If you only have one smoke alarm, install it in the hallway close to bedrooms

The Morepork flood sensor is built to detect any water leak in the area it is placed. The early warning this provides you whether you’re at home or away can save you a whole lot of time, money, and headaches from water damage.

The flood sensor can be fastened to the floor or to the wall. Water completes the connection between the two contacts and triggers an alert/alarm.

This smart component is a motion sensor and camera in one. Not only does it detect motion, but if your Morepork is armed it will take a photo when triggered. You can also ask it to take a photo at any time you want to ‘peek in’ through the Morepork app or web portal. The camera is colour and infrared so it can take photos day or night, and has a viewing range of 4.5 metres in the dark.

The indoor video camera records video clips when your Morepork is armed and a sensor is triggered. It uses your home WiFi connection to upload the clips to the Morepork app and web portal, and can alert you that there are new clips to watch. You can change your video camera settings to record additional clips at any time, including when your Morepork is disarmed.

You can also stream live footage from your video camera at anytime from the Morepork app and web portal. If any sensor is triggered when your Morepork is armed, the video camera will start recording and save a clip around a minute long, beginning before the trigger event. The video camera is infrared so it works at night as well as during the day, and has a viewing range of six metres in the dark.

The video doorbell lets you see who is at your door from the Morepork app. With the ability to stream live video, automatically record video clips, two-way audio, night vision and a built in motion sensor; you’ll never miss what’s happening on your doorstep again.

When a visitor presses the doorbell button your in-home doorbell chime will ring, and members of your household can receive an alert to their mobile. They can then see a live video feed, hear and speak to the person at your door.
